Porcelain Veneers in Raleigh

porcelain veneers raleigh nc - Gover and Gover DentistryPorcelain veneers are a great way to get the Hollywood smile we’ve become so accustomed to seeing on TV and the big screen. After all, these are the most beautiful people on the planet and for many of them, dental veneers are their smile secret. Hollywood self-indulgence aside, ultimately a great smile is a big part of natural self-confidence and positive self image which others often interpret as naturally attractive. If you need porcelain veneers in Raleigh, Gover and Gover Dentistry has the skill and experience to help you achieve the smile you desire.

What is a porcelain veneer?

A porcelain veneer is simply a very thin, custom made wafer-like tooth covering of ceramic material. After the teeth are prepared, these thin wafer-like pieces are bonded directly onto the front surface of the teeth. Veneers have become very popular and are a simple and versatile way to create an even, bright white smile.

With the advances in modern cosmetic dentistry, there is no reason to settle for a poor smile. Gaps between teeth, teeth stains, misshapen, chipped, broken or crooked teeth can all be fixed with veneers to restore a beautiful smile. Please call our Raleigh NC dental office at 919-782-9516 for more information on dental veneers or to schedule an appointment.

Will veneers look like normal teeth?

Once they are bonded to the teeth, ceramic veneers simply look like healthy, white tooth enamel are practically undetectable and very stain resistant. They are also thin enough that light can shine through them to reveal the natural color of the underlying tooth.

What about durability?

With proper care, porcelain veneers can be counted on to brighten your smile for a decade or more. Dr. David Gover and Dr. Susan Gover ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available and sourced here in the U.S.

The Procedure

The procedure will normally require three visits:

  • Initial consultation for diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Tooth preparation for veneers
  • Final bonding of the porcelain veneers

Care and follow up:

As with any good oral care regimen, be sure to brush and floss daily and then return for a follow-up visit after one to two weeks. Dr. David or Dr. Susan will have final advice for you at this time.

Veneers are very durable. Brushing and flossing per your normal regimen is fine, but it is recommended to avoid overly abrasive toothpastes.

After veneer placement some patients experience sensitivity to hot and cold. Original tooth enamel is removed during preparation for veneers and this can lead to sensitivity. But it is totally normal and should resolve itself in a week or two. Contact your dentist if that sensitivity continues.

As a final precaution if you tend to clench or grind your teeth at night, Dr. David and Dr. Susan may recommend a soft night guard to reduce undue tooth wear at night.

We sincerely hope that your new veneers give you the confidence to show off your beautiful new smile. With proper care and scheduled visits, your porcelain veneers are sure to keep your smile beautiful for years.

I have been with Gover and Gover since they were originally Averett and Pleasants 30 years ago. I would not have stayed with them and brought my wife in to their practice if they weren’t the best.

I’ve been with this dentistry establishment for more than 30 years. Last year I celebrated my “25-year-anniversary” seeing Leigh Ann — as my hygienist. She’s knowledgeable, personable, and efficient.

My family and I have been with Gover and Gover for about 15-20 years now—I was actually one of their very first regular patients back when they started in Raleigh!

After I moved to Durham, I thought about switching to a dentist closer to home, but Dr. Susan and Dr. David felt like family. When Dr. Susan retired, I tried out another dentist, but honestly, it just didn't feel right—it felt like I was cheating on my dentist! It just didn't feel like home.

Anyway, I recently ran into an issue that needed some "out of the box" thinking for custom crown work, and my new go-to, Dr. Tanner Dice, was fantastic. He went above and beyond to figure out a solution and address my issue. Plus, I received a nice parting gift that I’ll definitely be enjoying this evening!

A huge shout-out to the awesome support staff for being so great: Lynn, Libby, Amber, Tuck, Danielle, Leighann, and the rest of the team I haven't met yet. You are all so appreciated!

I have been coming here for over 12 years. A couple of years ago they changed their policy to where you have to pay all fillings in full and the insurance cuts you a check. It was annoying but fine I guess. Until this time. It’s been 2 months and we are still waiting for reimbursement. Insurance said the dentist office never filed anything. We will have to get another dentist which is unfortunate.
